We made beautiful autumn fairies when Opal was over last Thursday. I got the idea from here. To make our fairies, we first collected materials from our back yard: leaves, walnut halves and pine cones. I had some already gathered, along with some acorn caps, wool and chicken feathers. I had previously needle felted little white wool balls for the heads. Each kid picked what color of hair they wanted, what pine cone to use for the bodies, what type of leaves or feathers to use for the wings and all the other details for their fairy. We got to work putting them together and we each made our own unique and magical autumn inspired fairy. We added a string to them and each magical fairy flew above our kitchen table.
