Birthday At The Beach

For Esperanza's 3rd birthday we took her to the beach and stayed at a condo just steps from the ocean. It's been over a year since Esperanza was last there so I didn't know how much she would remember. I told her the beach was like a big sand box. Once we were there, she kept saying 'I wanna play in the big sand box'. During our stay, we spent lots of time on the beach, we visited the aquarium, played games in the arcade, went on the horse carousel and had a ton of fun. Armando wanted to take Esperanza on a helicoptor ride! They went to check it out and found out that there had to be a minimum of 4 people going and I wasn't about to take my 6 week old baby on. Another time maybe. As strange as it sounds, Esperanza kept asking to go home. Then of course, once we headed home, she wanted to go to the beach. Sheesh!

First day at the beach - once we got to there, I stayed at the condo with Ezra to nurse him and let him nap. Armando took Esperanza to the beach where she stripped her clothes off and ran in the ocean and played in the sand. Then they came back to get Ezra and I and we all went and enjoyed some beach time.At the aquarium Esperanza got to hold a live star fish, see a real live octopus along with many other sea creatures and she got to feed the sea lions.2nd day at the beach - Esperanza wound't eat her sandwich so we decided to feed it to the seaguls. We fed them, walked on the beach, flew the kite, played in the sand and Esperanza of course swang on the swings. Ezra seemed to enjoy the beach too. He didn't cry once while we were outside on the beach even though the wind was strong and cold. They love each otherWe had a little birthday party for Esperanza on her birthday. Complete with blue cupcakes, candles, a happy birthday song and a couple of gifts. Esperanza has been asking for "Jessie" - the Toy Story movie character - for many, many months now. She has seen other little kids with her and of course watches the movie way too much. So, we gave in and got her Jessie. She's in love!
