Cold and Windy In Florence

"What do you want to do for your birthday Ezra", I ask.
"I wanna go to the beach", he responds.

This is his response for months leading up to his birthday. He LOVES the beach. It's his favorite place to be. We've discussed his future, and there's a big possibility that he will live at the beach one day, and we will go visit him.

So, to the beach we go, for his 4th birthday! Our weekend at the beach happened to fall on the hottest few days so far at home, so we were looking forward to not just getting away from uncomfortable heat, but we also assumed that since it would be so hot here, it would be the perfect temperature at the beach. We were wrong. It was extremely cold at the beach! And extremely windy. We had never been to Florence, so we were a bit disappointed that the one time we went, was not as enjoyable. We did, however, make the most of it.
Since our hotel was right on the beach, we were able to plan short trips to play on the beach, and return when we got too cold. We also visited a lot of touristy places in the vicinity, including the Sea Lion Caves and the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Our hotel had a great indoor pool, very fun for the kids.
