Earlier this month, our homeschool STEAM group got together to experiment with tension, forces and compression. The kids had a lot of fun discovering how strong noodles can be by sticking them into Styrofoam and placing books on top. Some kids had special design ideas, while others just winged it. We went through a lot of noodles!
At the end of the month, just a few days ago, we went on a field trip to one of the moms' husbands work to learn some science about sounds. We went into a room called the anechoic chamber. It basically silenced noise in a way. It was really cool! Though it was too windy for it to work property, they set up a Reuben Tube. The flames are supposed to 'dance' in a soundwave to the music. Overall, it was a really fun experience for all of us!
