Ezra loves cooking with Grandma Angelina. He is getting good at making tortillas and he enjoys helping her when she makes enchiladas, tamales and other things.

Jaguars Fall Soccer Season 2018
Fall soccer season was fun for Esperanza. Her teams name is The Jaguars. She is getting better, learning more and enjoying the game. She of course loves the social time with friends too. This season another soccer mom and I took turns carpooling our girls to and from practice which made life a little easier on us. The team had practice twice a week and a game on Saturdays. This fall has been very warm and dry so the girls didn't get too wet, cold or dirty all season.
Esperanza and many of the other girls from the team are looking forward to indoor soccer in January with the same coaches.

Kiwi Time
The kiwi monster did not disappoint this year. It has grown an extreme amount over this past year. It is desperate for a new beefed up and more secure support system. I'd love to get the vined up off the ground and contained better. That doesn't seem to stop it from producing tons and tons of kiwi though. Ezra and I decided to start picking them early this year. First picking was October 16th, before the first frost. I'm thinking if I pick once a week for the next month or more, that should stager when they ripen and I won't end up with all of them being ripe at the same time. It's an experiment. I'm also giving away a bunch every time I have the chance to.
Ezra and I can't wait until they are ripe enough to eat!

Lime Clock
Ok, so it was originally a potato clock. But limes are more cool and work just as well. I picked up this kit from the craft store a few days ago and gave it to Ezra to give it a try. Amazingly, it works! The clock is now in Ezra's bedroom, telling him the time.
Pumpkin Patch 2018
We skipped the annual homeschool group trip to the pumpkin patch this year and instead opted to go as a family, with some extended family members - Rafa and Kiko.
Bi-Zi Farms was super BI-ZI!! I'll spare the details regarding the chaos. The important part is that we still had fun. The kids climbed the hay bale pyramid, ran through the bale maze, drove the little pedal tractors around, bounced around in the the corn pit, enjoyed hot cider and caramel corn, rode the wagon to the pumpkin field to pick out pumpkins, shot pumpkins with the pumpkin launcher and spent over an hour getting lost in the corn maze. It was fun and exhausting!
