We took a road trip with our friends Heather and Treya to a stay in a timeshare condo just outside of Port Townsend for a couple of days. On the drive there, Esperanza got car sick, but we were back on the road after a brief stop to clean her up and get her feeling better.
Once there, the kids had a lot of fun playing and running all over the condo together. Heather and I visited and enjoyed watching our kids play together. We brought lots of food, and cooked most of our meals there. The one full day there it down poured the entire time. We drove around on that day and looked at some of the cool scenery, including a purple castle! We went to the pool where the kids had a ton of fun swimming and playing. The following day, we went to a place called Olympic Game Farm. It's a drive through attraction to see what should be wild animals, held captive in a small area. This place, though intriguing and captivating, is quite disturbing. The place keeps the predatory animals caged up in tiny spaces, many of them native animals to the local environment including timber wolves, bob cats and black bears. I still don't understand why. We did however have a great time feeding the yacks, reindeer, elk and bison bread the place sold us to feed the animals while we drove through. Heather was terrified of driving through the field with buffalo, but I was driving and it was so fun to have their enormous heads right next to the car, rubbing their faces and smearing snot and saliva all over the window. It was pretty amazing!
On the drive home, we stopped to let the kids stretch their legs at a park and we ate a quick snack, then back home we went
