We didn't want to do it. But we had to. A round trip drive to Seattle and back in the same day - 2.5 hours there, 2.5 hours back - with the kids. We were up and out of the house by 8 a.m. and back home with the kids in bed by 9 p.m. Kind of amazing! In between those hours, we actually had a wonderful day! While in Seattle we toured Pike Place Market and ate some yummy fruits, visited The Space Needle where we admired the beautiful city of Seattle and we made two stops at the Passport Agency: once to apply for Ezra's passport and the second time to pick it up (more info on 'why' he needed a passport another time). After we picked up the passport, we hopped on the highway and headed back south, beating traffic. Both kids crashed in the car on the way home. As we neared Clark County, the kids woke and it was close to dinner time. After a quick call and a self invite, we found ourselves in La Center, seated at Armando's sister Teresa's kitchen table eating delicious tacos and visiting. After dinner, we took the short walk from Teresa's house to the local farmers market where Esperanza got her face painted, Ezra got a tiger balloon from the balloon guy and I found a flat of delicious local strawberries I needed for Ezra's strawberry shortcake birthday cake for this weekend.
