One Last Dip in the River

Despite it being past the Autumn Equinox and the kids being in school, including Esperanza, Summer won't go away. It's not just warm and sunny, it's hot! I'm so ready for cooler weather, but the weather won't cooperate.
Ezra was asking to go to the river so he can float down the rapids on the floatie. So, we blew them up, packed up some snacks and headed to the river. There's this sweet hidden spot on the Washougal River we like to go to. There's a large calm swimming area then a kid friendly rapids that is perfect for us. We missed Esperanza. It is very strange to go on adventures during the day without her.
Ezra collected half a dozen agats, skipped rocks in the river, floated down the rapids several times and played in the water. We were surprised at how cold the water was. Though the days are still hot, the nights have cooled down, which must impact the temperature of the water.
